Dance Afrique 2015 (London)

Springtime, March 28th 2015 was a night of glitzand glamour at the SSE Arena, Wembley as the Dance Afrique party train moved toLondon. From all walks of life, 4000 super excited guests filled the arena, beforethe first musician came on the stage.

The night was kicked off with an amazing performance by DJEdu and his team. Eddie Kadi and FunkeAkindele, renowned performers/comediansthrilled the audience all night long with their jokes and skits.

With swaying hips and a well-choreographed rhythmic movement,AwiloLongomba and his dancers drove the crowd wild; performing his old and newsongs. Shattawale had everyone jumping in excitement and swinging to an upbeattempo which continued on to FlavourN’abania’s performance, when the crowd wentberserk. Tiwa Savage’s guest appearance to do a duet with Flavour, was the highpoint of the performance. At this point, the Dance Afrique hashtag was a trendon Twitter.

The night’s climax was P-Square’s performance. Theinternationally-acclaimed duo made a spectacular suspense-filled entry. Thestunned audience screamed with delight when the stage lit up to reveal thestatue-like performers.  The audiencegyrated and sang to all the songs; whipping out their phones to capture theentire performance. AwiloLongomba reentered the stage to do a brilliantperformance with the P-Square duo. The night ended on a high note with guestseagerly anticipating the next edition of Dance Afrique.
